Water softener installation in Bradenton & Sarasota County

A softener takes out the calcium and magnesium that leave white crust on your faucets and spots on your glasses. We size it to your water, give you one flat price in writing and install it in a day. No two-hour sales pitch at your kitchen table.

What a softener fixes.

Florida water picks up calcium and magnesium from limestone underground. When that water dries, the minerals stay behind. A softener swaps them out before the water reaches your taps.

Manatee County's 2025 data shows hardness of about 6 to 16 grains per gallon. The EPA calls anything over 7 hard. For the long version, read our hard water guide.

  • White crust on faucets and showerheadsIt stops building up. Existing crust cleans off and stays off.
  • Spots on glasses and shower doorsWater dries clear instead of leaving a film.
  • Soap that won't latherYou use less shampoo, soap and detergent for the same clean.
  • A water heater that works harderScale coats heating elements and tankless heat exchangers. Soft water keeps them clear, which helps them last.

What's included.

Everything you need, installed and set up, with nothing to add at the door.

  • A softener sized to your homeBuilt to order in Florida, big enough for your household and your hardness, not oversized to waste water and salt.
  • A metered valveIt counts the water you use and only recharges when it needs to, instead of on a fixed timer.
  • A brine tankThe salt tank that recharges the softener. You top it up with salt pellets.
  • A bypass valveTurns the softener off in seconds if you ever need to, without shutting off the house.
  • Before and after testWe measure hardness at your kitchen tap before we start and after we finish, so you see the difference.

Who needs one, and who doesn't.

Not every home does. City of Sarasota water is already softened at the treatment plant, and Sarasota County softens its supply to about 7 grains. If that's you, a softener may not be worth it, and we'll say so.

On a private well, start with a free well water test, because iron and sulfur change what you need.

  • Manatee County waterUsually yes. Hardness runs from moderately hard to very hard.
  • City of Bradenton waterThe city doesn't publish hardness, so we measure it at your tap first.
  • Chemical taste too?A softener doesn't remove chlorine or chloramine. The Whole Home adds catalytic carbon in the same tank. See whole-house filtration.
  • Rather skip salt?A salt-free conditioner cuts scale but doesn't soften. It's in the price builder.

Upkeep, after year one.

A softener runs itself. The only regular job is salt: a bag or two a month for most homes.

Or hand it to us with the water-care plan: we handle it and retest your water once a year.

  • Salt pelletsCheck the brine tank every 4 to 6 weeks and keep it about half full. Use softener pellets, not rock salt.
  • Standard partsAny plumber can service it, and salt is sold at every hardware store. You're never tied to us.
  • WarrantyUp to 10-year tank & 5-year control valve manufacturer's warranties (plus our 1-year installation workmanship guarantee), spelled out part-by-part in writing before you buy.

Softener questions.

How long does a water softener installation take?

Most installs take one day. If your home already has a softener loop, it's usually done in a few hours.

Do I need a visit before you install?

One short one, and it isn't a sales pitch. We look at where your water comes in, the drain and the outlet, so the price we put in writing covers everything.

Will soft water taste salty?

Not at typical local hardness. A softener adds a little sodium. If you want it out of your drinking water, a drinking water system (RO) at the kitchen sink removes most of it.

Does a softener remove chlorine or chloramine?

No. A softener only removes hardness. The Whole Home adds catalytic carbon to the same tank to take out chlorine and chloramine.

What if my house doesn't have a softener loop?

We install one on your main line. It's one of the flat-priced extras, and you see the price in writing before we start.

Is a salt-free conditioner the same thing?

No. Salt-free systems don't remove calcium or magnesium; they change the minerals' form so less scale sticks. If you want the hardness gone, that takes a softener. We offer both.
