Water softeners & well water treatment in Parrish

Parrish has brand-new neighborhoods on county water and older properties on private wells. County water? Your utility's report tells us what's in it. A well? We test it first, free.

01Parrish water

What we see in Parrish homes.

  • 01

    Sulfur smell

That rotten-egg smell on the hot side is hydrogen sulfide, common in local wells.

  • 02

    Iron staining

Orange stains in sinks, tubs and toilets usually mean iron in the water.

  • 03

    Hard county water

Newer homes on county water still deal with scale and chloramine.

Homes on county water start with The Whole Home; homes on a well start with a free water test. Your utility's report and a quick call settle the final design. See all three systems, or take the one-minute quiz.

Four things that go in writing on every quote.Hold us to them.

  1. The price on the quote is the price on the invoice. Anything unusual about your install gets its own flat price, in writing, before we start.
  2. Commercial-grade parts, bought wholesale. No brand markup, and no proprietary filters that only we can sell you.
  3. Standard fittings and standard media. Any plumber in Manatee County can service it. You're never tied to us.
  4. One short visit, and it isn't a pitch. Your utility already publishes what's in your water, so we start there. Before install day we stop by once for a short look at where your water comes in, so we can tell you in writing whether the job is standard, whether any extra work has a charge, and whether re-piping means bringing in a licensed plumber.
02Local know-how

Two kinds of water in one town.

Parrish is growing fast. The new communities off US-301, Moccasin Wallow Road and Erie Road are on Manatee County water: Lake Manatee reservoir water blended with Floridan aquifer wells, disinfected with chloramine. Many older homes, ranches and acreage properties are on private wells, and well water calls for a different system.

Well water here is often hard and can carry iron and hydrogen sulfide, the rotten-egg smell. Neither is usually a health emergency, but both stain fixtures, ruin laundry and wear out water heaters. County water is hard too: Manatee County's 2025 water quality data lists total hardness of 106 to 279 mg/L, roughly 6 to 16 grains per gallon. The right fix depends on what's in your water, so we measure before recommending anything.

Private wells aren't regulated like public water, so testing is up to you. The Florida Department of Health recommends testing private wells for bacteria and nitrate at least once a year, and for lead every three years, using a state-certified lab. We'll tell you how to get one alongside our well test results.

03Questions

What Parrish homeowners ask us.

How do I know if I'm on a well?

If you get a water bill from Manatee County, you're on county water. If you have a pressure tank and well pump on your property and no water bill, you're on a well. Not sure? We'll help you work it out when we call.

Why does only my hot water smell like rotten eggs?

That's usually the water heater's magnesium anode rod reacting with sulfate, often helped along by bacteria in the warm tank. Treating the water upstream helps, and sometimes swapping to a different anode does too. We'll check both.

Can one system handle sulfur and iron?

Often, yes. An air-injection oxidizing filter takes out hydrogen sulfide and iron together at typical well levels, followed by a softener for hardness. Very high sulfide levels may need chlorine or peroxide injection instead. Your test results decide.

Do you test my well for bacteria?

Our free well test covers hardness, iron, sulfur (the rotten-egg smell), pH, dissolved solids and chlorine. Bacteria and nitrate need a state-certified lab, and we'll point you to one. If bacteria turns up, UV treatment becomes part of the plan.

I'm in a brand-new home on county water. Do I need anything?

New homes still get hard, chloraminated county water, and construction sediment in fresh lines is common. Most new Parrish homes on county water start with The Whole Home.

04Book your install

Nobody is coming to sit at your kitchen table.

Most companies want to come test your water so they can sit at your table and sell. We don't need to: your utility publishes exactly what's in it, every year. The one visit before install day is a short look at where your water comes in, so the price we put in writing covers any extra plumbing work.
