Whole-home water filtration & softening in Sarasota

City water, county water or a well: we tell you what's in it, quote a flat price and install in a day. Wells get a free test first.

01Sarasota water

What we see in Sarasota homes.

  • 01

    Chlorine & byproducts

Disinfected water, whether city or county, can carry chlorine taste and disinfection byproducts (TTHMs).

  • 02

    Scale

County water is moderately hard, enough to shorten the life of water heaters, dishwashers and fixtures.

  • 03

    Drinking water

An under-sink reverse osmosis system reduces PFAS, lead and dissolved solids at the kitchen tap.

Most Sarasota homes start with The Whole Home. Your utility's report and a quick call settle the final design. See all three systems, or take the one-minute quiz.

Four things that go in writing on every quote.Hold us to them.

  1. The price on the quote is the price on the invoice. Anything unusual about your install gets its own flat price, in writing, before we start.
  2. Commercial-grade parts, bought wholesale. No brand markup, and no proprietary filters that only we can sell you.
  3. Standard fittings and standard media. Any plumber in Manatee County can service it. You're never tied to us.
  4. One short visit, and it isn't a pitch. Your utility already publishes what's in your water, so we start there. Before install day we stop by once for a short look at where your water comes in, so we can tell you in writing whether the job is standard, whether any extra work has a charge, and whether re-piping means bringing in a licensed plumber.
02Local know-how

Your address decides your water.

Inside city limits, your water comes from the City of Sarasota: deep Floridan aquifer wells at the Verna and downtown wellfields, treated by reverse osmosis and ion-exchange softening, then disinfected with free chlorine. Outside the city, in places like Palmer Ranch, Gulf Gate and Siesta Key, it usually comes from Sarasota County: a blend of water bought from the Peace River Manasota regional authority and Manatee County plus the county's own Carlton wellfield, softened to moderately hard and disinfected with chloramine.

Those differences change the right system. City water is softened at the plant, so many city homes care more about chlorine taste and drinking water than scale. County water is still hard enough to scale water heaters, and its chloramine calls for catalytic carbon.

Most Sarasota customers ask about drinking water. Whole-home carbon handles chlorine taste and much of the disinfection byproducts. An under-sink reverse osmosis system at the kitchen tap reduces PFAS, lead and dissolved solids and replaces bottled water. If you're in a condo without room for a whole-home system, point-of-use filtration still makes a real difference.

03Questions

What Sarasota homeowners ask us.

I'm on City of Sarasota water. Is it different from the county?

Yes. The city treats its own well water with reverse osmosis and softening and disinfects with free chlorine. The county blends several sources, softens to moderately hard and uses chloramine. We check which one serves your address and design for it.

What does reverse osmosis actually remove?

RO membranes reduce PFAS, lead, arsenic, nitrate, fluoride and most dissolved solids. Certification is claim by claim, so we install systems certified under NSF/ANSI 58 for the specific contaminants you care about, and we'll show you the listing.

I live in a condo. Can I still get filtration?

Usually. If whole-home equipment isn't allowed or there's no room, an under-sink RO system and a shower filter cover what you touch and drink most. We'll check your association's rules with you.

Does softened water taste salty?

Not noticeably at Sarasota's hardness levels. Softening adds a small amount of sodium, and if you're watching it, an RO system at the kitchen tap removes most of it from your drinking water.

My house has older plumbing. Is that a problem?

No, but we'll take a look. We install with a bypass valve and new shutoffs, and we'll tell you if anything we see should be on a plumber's list.

04Book your install

Nobody is coming to sit at your kitchen table.

Most companies want to come test your water so they can sit at your table and sell. We don't need to: your utility publishes exactly what's in it, every year. The one visit before install day is a short look at where your water comes in, so the price we put in writing covers any extra plumbing work.
