Water softeners & whole-home filtration in Lakewood Ranch
Lakewood Ranch homes get hard, chloraminated water on either side of the county line. We tell you what's in it, quote a flat price, and install it in a day.
What we see in Lakewood Ranch homes.
- 01
Hard water
Calcium and magnesium leave crust on new fixtures, glass shower doors and tankless water heaters.
- 02
Chloramine
Treated county water keeps working after it reaches you: dry skin, faded laundry, chemical-smelling showers.
- 03
New-build grit
Construction sediment in newer neighborhoods clogs aerators and appliance valves early.
Most Lakewood Ranch homes start with The Whole Home. Your utility's report and a quick call settle the final design. See all three systems, or take the one-minute quiz.
Four things that go in writing on every quote.Hold us to them.
- The price on the quote is the price on the invoice. Anything unusual about your install gets its own flat price, in writing, before we start.
- Commercial-grade parts, bought wholesale. No brand markup, and no proprietary filters that only we can sell you.
- Standard fittings and standard media. Any plumber in Manatee County can service it. You're never tied to us.
- One short visit, and it isn't a pitch. Your utility already publishes what's in your water, so we start there. Before install day we stop by once for a short look at where your water comes in, so we can tell you in writing whether the job is standard, whether any extra work has a charge, and whether re-piping means bringing in a licensed plumber.
Two counties, one community.
Most of Lakewood Ranch is in Manatee County, but villages like Waterside sit south of the line in Sarasota County. The two counties run separate water systems. Manatee County blends Lake Manatee reservoir water with Floridan aquifer wells; Sarasota County buys most of its water from the Peace River Manasota regional authority and treats the rest at its Carlton wellfield. That's why homes a few miles apart can test differently, and why we check which utility serves your address instead of guessing from a ZIP code.
Both supplies are hard enough to matter. Manatee County's 2025 water quality data lists total hardness of 106 to 279 mg/L, roughly 6 to 16 grains per gallon. Sarasota County softens its water to around 7 grains. Either way, that's enough to build scale in tankless water heaters and spot glass shower doors. Both counties disinfect with chloramine, which ordinary carbon removes slowly, so our whole-home systems use catalytic carbon made for it.
Many newer homes have a softener loop pre-plumbed, often in the garage. If yours does, installation is quick and tidy, with nothing visible from the street. We'll confirm it on our short visit before install day.

What Lakewood Ranch homeowners ask us.
Does it matter which county my home is in?
It can. Manatee and Sarasota County water come from different sources and treatment plants, so hardness and minerals vary. We check which utility serves your address and design around its numbers rather than a county average.
My garage already has a softener loop. Can you use it?
Yes. A pre-plumbed loop is the easiest install there is. We connect to it, add a bypass valve and a drain, and you're usually done in a few hours.
Will my HOA need to approve the install?
Most installs go inside the garage on the existing loop, so there's nothing to see from outside. If your HOA asks, we'll give you the equipment specs and photos for the request.
Do I need a softener with a tankless water heater?
It's one of the best reasons to have one. Scale builds up on the heat exchanger, cuts efficiency and leads to service calls. Tankless manufacturers call for scale protection on hard water, and some warranties exclude scale damage.
Does a regular carbon filter remove chloramine?
Slowly and not very well. Chloramine is more stable than chlorine, so it needs catalytic carbon and more contact time. That's what our whole-home systems use.
Is my irrigation water the same as my tap water?
No. In Lakewood Ranch, irrigation water comes from Braden River Utilities as a separate non-potable supply. Our systems treat the drinking and household water that comes in from the county.
Nobody is coming to sit at your kitchen table.
Most companies want to come test your water so they can sit at your table and sell. We don't need to: your utility publishes exactly what's in it, every year. The one visit before install day is a short look at where your water comes in, so the price we put in writing covers any extra plumbing work.
